Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Fast Way to Remove Duplicates in Excel.

Welcome to the MrExcel netcast, where we explore the latest features and tips for Excel 2007. In this episode, we will be discussing the new and improved "Remove Duplicates" feature. As always, I am your host, Bill Jelen.

Gone are the days of manually filtering for unique items or creating pivot tables to get a list of distinct values. With the "Remove Duplicates" feature, it only takes a couple of clicks to get the job done. Simply select a cell in your data set, click on "Remove Duplicates", choose the columns you want to remove duplicates from, and click "OK". In a matter of seconds, Excel will remove all duplicates and leave you with a clean list of unique values.

But that's not all, this feature also allows for more complex scenarios. Let's say you want to see a list of unique customers and the products they have purchased. With "Remove Duplicates", you can easily select the customer and product columns and get a list of 81 unique values. This makes it incredibly simple to create unique lists of any combination of data.

In previous versions of Excel, achieving this level of data manipulation would have required using the advanced filter, which can be quite daunting for many users. But with the "Remove Duplicates" button conveniently located on the Data tab, it has never been easier to get a clean list of unique values.
