This is the biology chapter of biology which deals with different life processes. First of all it deals with how to find out whether an organism is living or dead or alive. For this molecular movement is required. Even for the maintenance, molecular movement is needed. In plants which don't move from one place to another there is molecular movement in the form of water and food. 
For upkeep and growth, food is taken from outside and is subjected to oxidation and reduction for breaking them down into simpler food for absorption in blood. 
Multi cellular organisms have well-defined structure and the nutrition is important to maintain them well.
