This is an idea for a tool box, that isn't a box, it's a book. Instead of the tools all laying down in a heap, or in drawers, they are hanging on the "pages" of a "book" attached via velcro, pouches, hooks, etc...

(note that in this video, the right most page is shown moved out into the air to the right of the book so that you can clearly see the hinge pin)

Each page hinges and can swing about 90 degrees. The pages to the left of center swing out to the left, those on the right, to the right. The center page can swing 180 degrees, either left or right.

This allows you to have 2 "main" sets of tools, covering 2 page surfaces each, easily open and accessible. Just as one example, I'll probably set it up as "Soldering" (iron, flux, solder, pick, tweezers, braid, etc...) over two pages, and then when I flip the center page, I'll have "Mechanical" (drivers, pliers, cutters, files, etc... )

The insides of the outer pages are less accessible and used for less commonly needed tools, parts, etc...

The outsides of the outer pages are the covers and might be a bit thicker, or covered with padding, or a pouch for a tablet, etc... They could be made to wrap around the front (clamshell) to completely seal the book with closed.

Options:
- Handle on top for easy carry. Probably attached only at the back into the top of the "spine".

- Power strip on the back of the spine

- Work light replaces front top. Instead of the top coming out all the way to the front edge of the pages, it could just come out far enough to attach the hinges, then the rest of the top cover could be a lamp.

- Tablet pouch on outside page

- Outer pages wrap around to seal

- Hollow spine for storage

- Some form of lock? Ideas?
