Ugandans expecting a refund of tax collected from mobile money transactions following a 1 percent levy on the service introduced in the 2018/19 budget, should forget it, according to the ministry of finance. Secretary to the treasury, Keith Muhakanizi, says government has already spent the 20 billion shillings collected by the Uganda Revenue Authority as of July 2018.
