I've been using this new lathe for about a year now but this is my first bit of footage taken on it. It has a much more comfortable centre height than my old Record lathe and variable speed, which is excellent. A weighty bed much reduces vibration enabling cleaner cuts and reduced sanding, as well as a stable platform on which to rest tools and wood whilst I'm working. The plate itself is one of 46 pieces I turned this day and will be part of an order for a local shop. It is finished with a food grade oil and intended for daily use as an item of tableware.
