Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Speed up Data Entry in Excel with this Cool Trick! | Excel Tutorial. Welcome to another episode of the MrExcel netcast, where we dive into all things Excel. In this episode, we'll be discussing a cool trick that I recently learned at a seminar. But first, let's talk about the common problem we all face - massive amounts of data. How do we analyze it efficiently? Well, the answer lies in pivot tables. So, let's get started and see if you can solve this problem along with me. During a recent seminar at BCG, I was demonstrating a data entry technique where you enter numbers in a column and press tab to move to the next column. However, I always found it frustrating that if I made a mistake and used the left arrow key to go back and correct it, Excel would jump back to the first column instead of the one I was working on. But thanks to a participant named Chris, I learned a much better way to do this. Instead of using the left arrow key, use Shift+Tab to go back and Excel will preserve the original column. This way, you can easily correct your mistake without having to start all over again. I hope this trick will save you some time and frustration in your data entry process. And if you have any other cool Excel tips or tricks, please share them in the comments below. Thank you for tuning in to this episode of the MrExcel netcast.
