NEWPORT, Ky. (WKRC) - A major local destination for families will get a $100-million makeover.

Newport city commissioners approved bond money Monday for Newport on the Levee. A new owner is taking over and plans to redevelop the entertainment complex. This includes plans to build on the vacant space next to the Newport Aquarium.

Newport's city manager says the Levee brings in about $800,000 a year in revenue.
