A guitar lesson on how to play 'Hey There Delilah' by Plain White T's.  I'll take you through all the chords and picking patterns with on-screen chord boxes and tab.

This is a great tune and perfect to work a bit of fingerstyle technique. Some of the chord changes are a little demanding so I would recommend working the chords first.  Then work the picking pattern in isolation with one chord and look to put it all together.

With the picking pattern, Tom Higgenson plays it with thumb and index finger only.  You can clearly see that in this video: https://youtu.be/jF5lYn3QrKw I prefer to use both index and middle fingers, and this is how I always teach it to students.
