Jacob & Sheela Kerygma Coffee House is a familiar name among the youth in Bangalore. Very few people know the story of how it came into existence and the way in which the founders Jacob and Sheela Isaac were inspired to start it. Jacob and Sheela were married in the year 1991. As they worked together in the ministry, they were blessed with a lovely baby girl. And before long Sheela found with joy that she was expecting once again. 'We began to think, you know, what we would do together as a family, and how would we lead our lives together...' said Jacob. 'I was excited like any other mother, and I'm one of those mothers who would speak to the baby not yet born, you know, and enjoy every kick and every movement,' said Sheela. To their delight, Sheela gave birth to a baby boy whom they named John. However, later that same day, the doctors diagnosed that John had a problem called 'Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome', it is a condition of the heart that gave him very little chances of survival. 'Lots of questions did come up, confusion, questions like why and at times like this you also tend to blame yourself. But that night in fact we prayed for a miracle, we just prayed that God would give John a new heart literally and bring him back to life...' said Jacob.
