Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast, where we answer all your Excel questions and provide helpful tips and tricks to make your spreadsheet experience even better. In today's episode, we'll be discussing a common question that came up during one of my recent seminars - how to handle outliers in your data. Now, let's get back to the question at hand - how to handle outliers in your data. We all know that the MIN and MAX functions can give us the smallest and largest values in a range, but what if we want to exclude those outliers from our calculations? That's where the SMALL and LARGE functions come in. By specifying the second smallest or largest value in a range, we can effectively throw out any outliers that may be skewing our data.

But what if you want to throw out more than just one or two outliers? That's where the PERCENTILE function comes in. By specifying a certain percentile, such as the 10th or 90th, we can identify the value that falls at that point and exclude it from our calculations. This is a great way to handle situations where there may be multiple outliers in your data.

So there you have it - a few different ways to handle outliers in your data using Excel functions. I hope this has been helpful and has given you some new tools to use in your spreadsheet analysis.
