Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Create Custom Templates for Different Customers in Excel.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In today's episode, we have a great question from Jennifer in Illinois. She was watching Podcast 612 where I talked about customizing all future workbooks, and she asked if it was possible to set up different templates for different customers. Well, the answer is yes! In this video, I'll show you how to create customer templates in Excel.

First, let's say we have two different customers, ABC and DEF, and we want to create separate bid templates for each of them. We'll start by opening a blank workbook and customizing it with the columns and headings we need for customer DEF. Then, we'll go to "File" and "Save As" and change the file type to "Template". Excel will automatically navigate to the templates folder, where we can save our template as "Customer DEF".

Next, we'll do the same thing for customer ABC, but this time we'll save the template as "Customer ABC". Now, when we need to create a proposal for either of these customers, we can simply go to "File" and "New" and choose "Templates on my computer". We'll see a list of all the templates available, and we can select the one we need. This will open a brand new file with all the headings and columns already set up for that specific customer.

You can create as many customer templates as you need and save them in the templates folder for easy access. This is a great time-saving feature that will make your work in Excel much more efficient. Thank you to Jennifer for sending in this question, and thank you for watching. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more helpful Excel tips and tricks.
