Report attributes landslides in Elgon sub region to encroachment

A new study has shown that over 6,000 hectares of Mt. Elgon National Park have been encroached on by neighbouring communities. According to experts, the encroachment has led to deforestation and over-cultivation, which is one of the reasons there have been landslides in the area over the last few years.
