Unum CEO Tom Watjen is retiring after more than a dozen years leading the company. Watjen is Chattanooga’s highest-paid CEO. In 2012 his compensation was worth close to $14 million dollars. 60-year-old Thomas R. Watjen will become chairman of the company’s board of directors. And Unum’s chief financial officer, Rick McKenney, will become the company’s new CEO starting April 1st.
