Speaker 1: I've done some ride alongs with police and fire and I can tell you that in critical moments that I've seen where they nearly needed to communicate that radio was there. I think I base a lot of my passion on the satisfaction that I get from seeing that type of interaction between them and the radios. I mean the Motorola radio is a very durable but because of the preventive maintenance schedule we put them on we reassure the agencies that their radios are always gonna be ready for them to use and be in service.

Motorola has a complete range of services from the set up, the commissioning, database hosting, software support as well. And then after the programming's done, any support issues. They can handle everything from start to finish. Because we have a fleet of 3,500 radios, it is virtually impossible for us to track, maintain, upgrade radios by just conventionally plugging them into a computer. We have a system where we can have a depository which we call containers and radio manager and we load all of the radios in it remotely.

We do a code plug changes that are needed, any changes in the channel alignments that they need for the agencies. We also do firmware alignments if there's any flash code updates for any features. We do all that in radio manager and we keep that, that history if you will within radio manager. It has made our life so much easier. This has been a dream come true for me. It's not just a job, it's something that people depend on. It's life safety. It's not only for the life safety of a firefighter, police, EMS, but for the citizens of DuPage County.
