Five KDF soldiers die after vehicle is hit with IED

Five Kenya Defence Forces soldiers have been killed and ten others wounded after their vehicle ran over an Improvised Explosive Device along Kiunga and Sankuri road in Lamu County.

The incident happened while the soldiers were distributing water to local residents. The region has been experiencing attacks in the past months carried out by Al-Shabaab terrorists who are operating in the vast Boni forest.
