Tea farmers are likely to earn more thanks to an ambitious initiative by the government and key value chain players to develop a value addition policy and diversification. Agriculture Chief Administrative Secretary Andrew Tuimur says export of raw tea as opposed to adding value to the produce to various markets around the world has denied local farmers an opportunity to earn more.
