LUDLOW, Ky. (WKRC) - This Halloween is a special one for one 9-year-old boy because he can fully see all the candy going into his pumpkin bucket. Tai Froehle is legally blind. He has no vision in his right eye and he can barely see out of the tiny corner of his left eye. But in May, he got his own eSight glasses, and now, life is totally different. “These glasses have opened up an entire world for him because now he can do things his fellow classmates can do,” said Tai’s mother, Abigail Froehle. The glasses take what’s in front of Tai and condense it to that one spot where he has vision. “Instead of having to look here and here and here to piece together his environment, it does it for him,” said Abigail. The glasses have improved Tai’s life in many ways. "I like the fact that they can zoom in and zoom out in the light and take pictures,” said Tai. "When I'm looking at the board and I can't see, it's like pow! There's sight. It just gives me zoom-in sight.” His sight finally lets Tai see all the costumes on Halloween and not have to have his cane. “It is different because I never have to hold anything other than my bucket and maybe a weapon,” said Tai. Tai went through the neighborhood dressed as Darth Vader with his little brother, a Stormtrooper. For Abigail, this is a moment she’ll not soon forget. “He is just like any other kid now except with these pretty awesome Star Trek-looking glasses,” said Abigail.
