A quick sequence of game play videos pulled from CC recordings already on YouTube, with the dates added to point out how much video game simulation has improved (technically) over time. This was made as a companion to this article I published about the Simulation Argument: https://www.facebook.com/notes/james-newton/the-simulation-argument/700466326636502 Note how the NPCs (Non-Player Characters, the "fake" humans) in the later simulations display very realistic actions and responses. As our ability to simulate NPC's improves, at what point will they experience emotions just like us? We are currently mapping the human brain in detail. At our ever increasing rate of technological advancement, NPC's aren't far off from being just as real as we are... in fact... we very probably are NPC's. I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)
