The expansion of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport will now be undertaken through the public private partnership. The expansion to be carried out in phases will allow the JKIA to handle the nine percent traffic growth annually. Transport Principal Secretary Irungu Nyakera has further said the United States Department of Transportation is expected to issue a decision on direct flights to the US early next year. Nyakera was speaking during the 6th Africa Aviation Law Conference here in Nairobi.
