Water fasting, also known as a water cleanse, is a type of fasting in which you consume only water for a set period of time. Many cleansing diets are referred to as fasts, but in water fasting, you take in zero calories.

Fasting is distinct from caloric restriction (in which a person’s daily caloric intake is reduced by 30–40%).

Water fasting, also known as a water cleanse, is a type of fasting in which you consume only water for a set period of time. Juicing is the process of extracting juice from fruit, vegetables or tubers. The resultant nutrient-rich liquid is usually consumed immediately after juicing to maximize the health benefits.

What are some foods to decrease arthritic knee pain. Torn meniscus surgery did not work. X rays confirm arthritis.

Melissa Croft asks..
Is water fasting safe while breastfeeding? My boys are 4.5 and 14 months so they nurse but not exclusively anymore. Will there be too heavy a contamination burden? I remember reading a nutritionfacts article on heavy metals and breast milk. That being said... I'm losing weight and have been since giving birth so maybe the risk is the same.

Susan Davis asks
When is it better to fast or juice?

Marion Simmons asks
I have started to do intermittent fasting for a couple of months...18 hours with a 6 hour feeding window 5 days per week..on the weekend my windows are sometimes off. It has helped me to lose weight. Will there be any negative side effects if I keep doing this? Once I do I reach my goal weight… I was thinking to continue...perhaps not every day….but to keep at weight.

Question:
Are there any plant based foods you should eat more of while being an avid intermittent faster? Other than animal based foods, what foods should you avoid during your feeding window while in weight loss mode?

Question:
Can intermittent fasting damage any vital organs?

Cleansing is a crucial part of any health and weight loss program. The stress, pressure and exhaustion of daily life can interfere with normal elimination and repair and these stressors urge the body to hold on to metabolic waste.

Macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, proteins, water) are used primarily to generate energy or to incorporate into tissues for growth and repair.

Carbohydrates are compounds made up of types of sugar. Proteins are organic compounds that consist of amino acids joined by peptide bonds. Fats are needed for construction and maintenance of cell membranes, to maintain a stable body temperature, and to sustain the health of skin and hair.

Ketosis is a metabolic state in which some of the body's energy supply comes from ketone bodies in the blood, in contrast to a state of glycolysis in which blood glucose provides energy.

Calorie restriction, or caloric restriction, is a dietary regimen that reduces calorie intake without incurring malnutrition or a reduction in essential nutrients.

Fasting is the willing abstinence or reduction from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time. An absolute fast or dry fasting is normally defined as abstinence from all food and liquid for a defined period. Water fasting refers to abstinence from all food and drink except water.

Gluconeogenesis (GNG) is a metabolic pathway that results in the generation of glucose from certain non-carbohydrate carbon substrates which takes place mainly in the liver.
