CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The web and social media are filled with “news” items that look real but turn out to be fake. During the dramatic fight to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the web and social media buzzed with a story that former President Bill Clinton had weighed in on the controversial claims about sexual impropriety. Clinton’s quotes were attributed to an interview on MSNBC and included a statement, where Clinton supposedly said, "Any single allegation of sexual misconduct should immediately call into question a man's ability to help lead a nation." The statement would be stunning if it were true. Clinton was nearly forced out of office for lying about his affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinski, but Bill Clinton never stated any of it to MSNBC or anyone else. According to Snopes, the oldest and largest fact-checking site on the internet, the quotes were part of a satirical article published by The Babylon Bee, a website that does not publish factual stories.
