Bududa, Manafwa residents get new cable footbridge

Residents of Bududa, Mbale and Manafwa who have had challenges in accessing basic social services because of the difficulties associated with getting around the mountainous area have got a reason to celebrate after the ministry of works commissioned a suspended cable foot bridge that is going to ease transport in the 3 districts. While commissioning the 298 million shilling cable foot bridge, The state minister for works, General Edward Katumba Wamala, revealed that the bridge was adopted as the most viable and cost effective technology for the area. The residents welcomed the bridge saying they have been suffering for long, especially during the rainy seasons when the rivers in the valleys flooded, which forced them to take longer journeys around the hills to access schools, hospitals and other services.
