Matt Jackson and Jane Kennedy are working members of the Class 40 Preservation Society/Bury Diesel Group. Today is their Easter wedding day with the wedding party travelling on the East Lancashire Railway's 'Wedding Belle' Special. The locomotive that hauled the train to Rawtenstall was CFPS mainline engine 40145, and so here we see this heavyweight 2000 hp English Electric engine whistling away on platform 2 of Bury Bolton Street adorned with balloons and ribbons courtesy of the CFPS. We then span the platform only to see a very smart CFPS engineer Dave Peacock wearing his best navy blue suite complete with white rose. No doubt he will be back in the engine room sooner than he thinks. The date is Saturday 22nd March 2008.
