Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is becoming a major health problem worldwide.

Reports show that central Uganda has a high prevalence of kidney disease in.

 Interestingly the traditional risk factors associated with CKD previously documented, were not associated with CKD.

The high prevalence of kidney disease in rural and peri-urban areas highlights the current burden of Non communicable diseases
