Help continues to pour in for dozens of people who were displaced by last week's fire at the Carriage Parc Apartment Homes. The majority of the residents affected by the fire have been rehoused in other apartments in the complex, but they are still without basic necessities, like beds. But thanks to a generous donation Monday afternoon, they will slowly begin to rebuild. The Chattanooga Furniture Bank delivered 15 mattresses for those residents who lost everything. The fire damaged 54 units and destroyed 12 Friday morning. It started on the second floor of one of the buildings. Officials tell us they think a burning cigarette butt caused it.Red Cross officials told us they are impressed with how the community has come together to help the Carriage Parc residents. If you are interested in helping, there is a disaster relief account at First Tennessee Bank. You can also donate in person or by mail at 4115 S. Access Road, Chattanooga, TN 37406
