Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Customizing Toolbars in Excel 2003 and Earlier.

Welcome back to another episode of the MrExcel netcast! In this video, we will be discussing how to customize your toolbars in Excel ‘97 through Excel 2003. By simply right-clicking on a toolbar and selecting Customize, we can access the Customize dialogue and make various changes to our toolbars.

One useful trick is the ability to change the button image on a toolbar. If you don't like the default image, you can right-click on it and choose to change the button image. You can even edit the image pixel-by-pixel to create a custom icon. It may be tedious, but it's a great way to personalize your toolbars.

But that's not all! Did you know that you can also add brand new icons to your toolbar that initially do nothing? By right-clicking on the Macros item and selecting the "nothing" icon, you can then change the button image and assign a hyperlink to it. This means that you can create a shortcut to your favorite webpage, such as MrExcel, and access it directly from Excel with just one click.

And for a fun little prank, be sure to tune in on Friday for some wild tricks you can do with your toolbar icons. Imagine the look on your manager's face when they click on an innocent-looking icon and it takes them to a silly webpage. Don't worry, we won't tell them it was your doing. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more helpful Excel tips and tricks. See you next time on the MrExcel netcast!
