Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Advantages of Ctrl+T tables in Excel. Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast, where we bring you the latest tips and tricks for mastering Excel. I'm Bill Jelen and today we're diving into the world of table filters. With just seven days left until the release of Excel 2007, we're excited to show you some of the new features that will revolutionize the way you work with data. One of the first things you'll notice when working with tables in Excel 2007 is the new functionality that allows your headings to change as you scroll through the table. This feature is only available when using table headings and will disappear once your cursor moves outside of the table. While this may not replace the need for Freeze Panes, it's a useful tool to have when working with large tables. But the real game-changer is the enhanced AutoFilter dropdowns. Not only can you now select multiple values to filter by, but there are also new virtual filters for dates and numeric values. For example, you can now easily filter for records from a specific month or those with sales above or below a certain amount. This improved functionality makes it easier than ever to analyze and manipulate your data. And for those who prefer the traditional spreadsheet format, don't worry - you can easily convert your table back to a regular range by selecting the "Convert to Range" option in the Table Tools, Design ribbon. This will remove the table formatting and convert all formulas back to their original form. So whether you're a fan of tables or not, Excel 2007 has something for everyone. With just one week left until the release of Excel 2007, we hope you're as excited as we are about the new features and improvements.
