My on-again, off again utility project, a display head coupled with current and voltage sensors for display of values. I finally decided to push this to completion. Essentially it is an arduino with 6 analog and 6 digital inputs connected through RJ11 jacks, so the sensors can be remoted from the actual display unit. What this does for me is that my sensors can be in-circuit on a large device, and I can be well out of harms way. It also means that I don't have to run excessive lengths of high-gauge wiring to have the sensor away from the load. Contrast this to the watts-up meter popular with hams, electric bike builders, robotics and RC model uses, etc where it must be in-circuit with no remoting capability. Soon enough I will have a handheld unit which lets me run with the sensors any way I want. Future plans include digital sensors, and temperature sensors. Note the slow refresh rate, a drawback of floating point math on the arduino.
