Microsoft Excel Tutorial - Copy Column Widths in Excel with this Time-Saving Trick | MrExcel Netcast.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In today's video, we're going to talk about a handy trick for copying column widths in Excel. As many of you know, using the format painter is a great way to copy formatting, including column widths. But did you know there's another option that can make this process even easier?

If you're using Excel 2003 or newer, there's a new option in the paste special menu that allows you to copy column widths. This can be a real time-saver, especially if you have multiple columns to copy. In the past, manually adjusting each column width could be a slow and tedious process, but with this new feature, it's a breeze.

Let's say you have a set of columns that you need to copy to another worksheet. Instead of manually adjusting each column width, simply select the first row of cells and copy them to the clipboard. Then, go to the sheet where you want to adjust the column widths and select the corresponding cells. In the paste special menu, you'll see an option for column width. Click on it and Excel will automatically adjust the columns to match the original data set. It's that easy!

This trick is especially useful if you have a large number of columns to copy, each with a different width. It can save you a lot of time and frustration. So next time you need to copy column widths in Excel, remember this handy tip. Thanks for watching and be sure to tune in for more helpful netcasts from MrExcel. See you next time!
