Microsoft Excel Tutorial: First Look at the Improved Filters that Debuted in Excel 2007.
Welcome back to the MrExcel Netcast! In today's video, we're going to take a look at the improvements that Microsoft has made to Excel 2007, specifically in regards to filters. If you've been using Excel for a while, you may remember the custom auto filters in Excel 2003. Well, in Excel 2007, they've been renamed to simply "filters" and they come with some great new features.

To access the filters in Excel 2007, simply choose a cell and click on the filter icon on the data tab of the ribbon. Just like in Excel 2003, you'll see the dropdowns at the top. However, one major improvement is the ability to select multiple items at once. This means you can easily filter for more than just one item, making your data analysis even more efficient.

Another great addition to the filters in Excel 2007 is the special filters for dates. You can now filter for specific time periods such as today, yesterday, last week, last month, and more. And if you're working with a large amount of data, you'll appreciate that the date fields are automatically grouped by month, making it easier to analyze your data.

But perhaps the most exciting new feature in Excel 2007 filters is the ability to filter by color. This means you can easily filter for cells that are a specific color, making it even easier to analyze and organize your data. So whether you're using Excel 2007 or planning to upgrade in the future, you can look forward to these fantastic new filter features.
