CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Some local breweries brought home big wins from the 2018 Great American Beer Festival in Denver over the weekend.

Brink Brewing in College Hill earned two medals: a gold in the Sweet Stout or Cream Stout category and a silver in the English-Style Mild Ale category. This makes Brink the "Very Small Brewing Company of the Year" -- the top honor given to a brewery producing under 1,000 barrels of beer.

MadTree Brewing in Oakley won its first-ever medal at the prestigious festival for "Happy Amber" in the Extra Special Bitter category.
