My review of Ed Sheeran's cover of Make it Rain by Foy Vance from Sons of Anarchy

Hey everybody I am doing a cover of Ed Sheeran's new song he released on iTunes called Make It Rain. Now this is not actually an original Ed Sheeran. It's a cover of Foy Vance's i guess it was a cover. It was a song they did for the show Sons of Anarchy, which if you guys aren't watching it's a really great show. I started season 1  and I need to catch up from where I left off. It's one of the best shows on TV for sure. One of the things about Ed Sheeran compared to other pop stars is that this guys got a great voice. He's one of the few guys who can sell out arenas and it's just him and an acoustic guitar. And It's definitely different from stuff he's done in the past. It's got a very bluesy kind of feel to it and it's very slow and mellow kind of song. There is some you know electric guitar, it's very restrained, but it's such a powerful song and it's really just centred around his voice with minimal instrumentation. It's a great song. I really recommend you guys go download it off iTunes. I give this song a 4.5/5. Thanks for watching guys and don't forget to hit the subscribe button.

"FX’s hit drama Sons of Anarchy is wrapping up its seven-season run next week, and to help celebrate the occasion, Ed Sheeran has tossed out a studio version of his bluesy cover of Foy Vance’s “Make It Rain,” which he’s performed regularly on tour. Listen below:

The Irish singer-songwriter’s “Make It Rain” is given a soulful facelift from Sheeran, whose voice punctures the guitar licks over the nearly seven-minute track. The grittily emotional track doesn’t really fit in with the vibe of Sheeran’s sophomore album, x… but hey, that’s why he’s thrown it out as a non-album single!

Speaking of x, Sheeran’s follow-up to his 2011 debut, +, has crossed the million-sales mark in his native U.K., making the singer-songwriter the first artist to achieve that feat within a calendar year since Emeli Sande in 2012. “Don’t,” the second single from x, became Sheeran’s first Top 10 hit on the Hot 100 chart earlier this year.
