EXTERIOR
This pioneering highly aerodynamic aluminium body offers incredibly high levels of rigidity and safety yet weights 40 per cent less than a comparable steel body at only 850kg!  The rear wheel skirt and a flat underside give this sleek machine a drag coefficient of just 0.25.  Finished in gleaming factory standard Citrus Yellow (code GY-22M), this distinctive colour was made only for the first year of production and now remains the rarest of the mere 250 cars supplied for the UK market.  The original paintwork has remained in pristine condition with only a tiny area of oxidisation on the front edge of the bonnet.  A miniscule touched in scratch to the passenger door mirror and a faint scuff to the lower edge of one rear wheel skirt are barely worthy of mention and can be seen upon close scrutiny only.  The plastic light units, rubbers and decals remain in excellent condition.  
    
INTERIOR
The high specification and attention to detail is in no doubt and the wealth of information provided by the advanced, yet logical, digital display is a joy.  The matching Citrus and Grey seats (Type P) are perfect with no wear or discolouration whatsoever, and the original carpet is pristine having been protected from new by tailor made Honda Insight over-mats.  All functions and controls operate exactly as Honda intended including the optimal gearshift indicator, an essential instrument for those wanting to best exploit the legendary fuel economy possible with this revolutionary vehicle.
 
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
At the heart of this technologically amazing car is the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system which combines worlds lightest 1.0 VTEC 3 cylinder lean burn engine with an ultra-thin brushless 10kW electric motor.  This ingenious system allows outstanding efficiencies of a combined cycle of 83 mpg and only 80g/km of CO2 emissions.  A top speed of 112 mph and a 0-60 of 12.5 seconds from the 76 bhp setup leaves plenty of scope for fun especially when factoring in that 113 NM of torque is available at just 1500 rpm!  The 144 V nickel metal-hydride (Ni-MH) batteries, (weighing just 20kg), hold charge and activate correctly.  A documented installation of the Honda Grid/Mains IMA Charging Unit ensures optimum balance and life of the Ni-MH batteries, and proves an invaluable addition for when the car is in infrequent use.  The lightweight 5-speed transmission offers a short, precise and positive shift with the auto start/stop technology performing seamlessly.
  
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The highly polished aluminium aero wheels are in remarkable un-refurbished condition with only tiny light scuff marks to the outer rims.  Quality Michelin Energy 175/65/R14 tyres offer low rolling resistance and have good tread remaining.  The ABS braking system operates perfectly.  

HISTORY FILE
First registered on 28th April 2000 to Honda Motors Europe Ltd, the car was kept by Honda as an example to showcase the technology developments they were capable of.  The vehicle was transferred to Universal Honda Limited in Dublin in May 2001 and first registered in Ireland by them on 16th July 2001 to be used in the same manner as a showpiece for Honda's incredible technological advances.  Previous registration documents support the ownership by Honda, including a letter from Universal Honda Limited stating when they purchased the car from Honda Motors Europe and when they sold it to the first private owner in Ireland on 31st July 2009.  Fastidious care and maintenance by Honda was of course paramount, and further invoices from Honda Main Dealers in Dublin illustrate further service work in July 2012.  

The vehicle has now been re-registered as a UK car and is ready for its first private UK mainland  owner to enjoy and preserve.  All original handbooks, service books and radio guides are present in the original leather wallet along with many previous NCT Reports (MOT's).
