The National irrigation board has set aside 5 billion shillings for the rehabilitation of lower Nzoia River to control flooding that has affected Budalangi region. National irrigation board deputy director Daniel Atula says thousands of area residents have suffered the effects of rains due to flooding each year, a situation he says must be reversed. Elsewhere, the government has moved to reclaim grabbed public land in Juja Sub County after it emerged that a private developer was intending to construct high-rise buildings on the contentious piece of land.
