Counties get Ksh 2 billion to address water challenges

Six counties will receive a total of 2 billion Shillings to address the water and sanitation challenges facing them.


The money has been donated by the Governments of Sweden and Finland. While addressing the governors of Nandi, Tharaka Nithi, Migori, Laikipia , Kwale and Narok Counties in Naivasha, Nakuru County, Swedish Ambassador to Kenya, Ann Jardfelt, said 1.6 billion Shillings has already been disbursed and various projects have already taken off. Both the Finnish and Swedish governments have committed to support the water and sanitation projects since women and children are the most affected in times of drought and disease.
