Hi everyone, this is Day 11 of our healthy coping challenge. We are sorry that we moved the camera around so much and made so many shuffling sounds when we moved our notebook and book around. We have a very good reason for holding the camera in our hands while we record, but it does make these updates inconvenient.

Potential triggers include: child alters (Polyfragmented DID), anxiety and overwhelm, fear of reaccessing, a loved one with health issues, an unmet need to play outside and any of the topics mentioned below

From 2:19-4:07, we also read a poem by Alex Grey called "The One." It is about the Big Bang (the Creation of the Universe) and God. If any of these things are triggering for you, you may want to skip this part.

From 4:09-4:49, we talk about the poem and show the painting that accompanies it in the book: a painting of an atom, a man's face mostly without skin (Alex Grey does amazing anatomical drawings/paintings) and a galaxy.

The coping tools we drew for today were: writing poetry, playing with our stuffed animals, reading a spiritual book, studying math, doing our hygiene routine and focusing on our hydration

For writing poetry, our child alters wrote a limerick which we are not yet ready to share, but it is very cute.

For playing with our stuffed animals, we read The Hobbit aloud to them, our child alters and our partner.

For reading a spiritual book, we read Art Psalms, which you can view parts of here: https://m.alexgrey.com/media/writing/art-psalms/

For studying math, we had to put that on hold because it felt too triggering, but we hope to be able soon. We were able to take a guitar lesson from our neighbor yesterday, like we commited to, which was cool.

For our hygiene routine, we were able to brush our teeth, shower, shave, wash our face, put on deodorant and apply chapstick.

For focusing on our hydration, we left that up to alters who didn't keep us as hydrated as we would have liked, but we're giving them a chance to find their way.

The coping tools we have drawn for tonight and tomorrow are: dancing, playing with our stuffed animals, reading a non-spiritual book, burning incense, going to a thrift store or a yard sale and meditating on a Louise Hay affirmation card

Overall, while we are still overwhelmed, this was a successful day. We hope that tomorrow is even better.
