Having already posted a pictorial clip of the original 12 inch version of Peter Brown's biggest hit 'Dance With Me', I wanted the challenge of creating a video of a mix of the song as it holds such personal resonance for me. My thanks to the mix from Madman's Discotheque and the mmd twelve Re-edit as it not only gives me another glorious two minutes to play with, it is much more to love about  this quintessential disco classic. I've used rare footage from a Sixty Minutes report of the making of Peter's iconic hit as well as some discotheque material from the 1977/78 period.  Whilst fairly repetitive (all of the best loved dance hits were), 'Dance With Me' is such a wonderful piece of retro pop: penned by Brown himself and Robert Rans and featuring the great vocals of Betty Wright, it was a huge hit in America; less so in Australia, but it was the first 12 inch record i ever bought and it transports me back to an awkward time in my young life.
