Microsoft Excel Tutorial: 7 Ways to Paste Values in Excel - Shortcut, Macro, and More!. Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this video, we're going to talk about Paste Special Values in Excel. I just got back from one of my Power Excel seminars where I always stress the importance of using this feature. Most people are familiar with the traditional method of copying and then using the Paste Special Values option. But did you know there are several other ways to do this that can save you time and clicks? One method is to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C followed by Alt+ESV. This is a little faster than the traditional method, but there are even quicker ways to Paste Special Values. For example, you can add the Paste Values icon to your toolbar and simply click it after copying. This reduces the process to just two clicks. But thanks to a suggestion from Dawn in Orville, Ohio, we have an even better solution. Dawn pointed out that we can create a simple two-line macro that will convert formulas to values with just one click. To do this, go to Tools, Macro, Record New Macro and name it "PasteValuesInPlace". Make sure to turn on Relative Reference and then perform the Ctrl+CLESV action. This will create a macro that copies and pastes values in one step. You can then add this macro to your Personal Macro Workbook and assign it to an icon on your toolbar for easy access. But wait, there's more! I can't talk about Paste Special Values without mentioning my favorite trick of all time. In Columbus, Indiana, I learned a fast way to change formulas to values by right-clicking and dragging. This brings up a menu where you can select "Copy Here as Values Only". With at least seven different ways to Paste Special Values, you're sure to find a method that works best for you.
