For the latest news across Belize, visit: http://edition.channel5belize.com/ The last sitting of the House of Representatives for 2018 took place in Belmopan and generally, the members were in good form. A number of issues came up, but we start with the rising cost of fuel, which remains a concern for Belizeans, particularly those in the productive sector where the existing cost per gallon of diesel persistently affects their bottom line. To make matters worse, Belize Electricity Limited is requesting another increase in the cost per kilowatt hour of electricity. The request made to the Public Utilities Commission comes almost six months after energy rates were increased earlier this year. Speaking on adjournment, Leader of the Opposition John Briceño spoke of both in the context of the rising cost of living.
