The stock market is crashing not because of short sellers, but because investor confidence has collapsed and people are simply selling and not buying back. I go over the recent outflows in certain financial products and look at the bigger problem behind this December stock market crash, and what we have seen continue since October. I discuss this process and how it can be seen through the vix and volatility measures in the stock market. The second half, I discuss what I think could be the next big short and also gives evidence to the thesis of record outflows on loan products in December. This big short thesis is based off of the CDO evil cousin, the CLO and the CLO market collapsing, which is currently happening right now! Again, as always, just sharing my thoughts and documenting the process, do not make any investment decisions based on this information, use it to study the markets and learn how the stock market functions!
