Machakos Governor turned away by Senate’s Public Accounts Committee

Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua was on Thursday turned away by Senate’s Public Accounts Committee for failing to avail documents detailing how he spent monies allocated to the county in 2015. Despite the governor’s plea to have the audit query proceed, the Senators remained adamant that Mutua must furnish the committee with the documents. The said documents relate to the expenditure of 7 billion shillings allocated to the county in the 2014/2015 financial year.
