In 1976 I had to get my hands on all things Abba - records, cassettes, photos, playing cards - and this track from the album "Abba" which was the first album by an individual artist that I owned (K-tel various artists records had been my staple). 

I was completely Abba crazy - still am, if given a chance! They gave so much pleasure to so many, and their songs brightened my little world (which needed brightening). This song is such a stomper, and I used to bop around my bedroom with an imaginary microphone and used to rock out to this song, time and time again - until the poor cassette tape unlooped itself! 

Abba had such a knack for catchy, memorable and enjoyable melodies, choruses and feel good vibes inbuilt to every track - whatever the tempo. "So Long" did not chart as a single in Australia, but pretty much everything else did in 1975/1976! They were all over the charts with "Abba" "The Best Of Abba" "Waterloo" "Ring Ring" and "Arrival" - and that was just the album charts! 8 Singles held chart positions during 1976 alone!: "Mamma Mia", "SOS", "Ring Ring", "Rock Me" "Fernando" "Dancing Queen" "Hasta Manana" and Money Money Money" - with 5 of them reaching the top spot!
