CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A judge increased Margaret Kinney's bond to five million dollars now that's she's facing charges that could lead to the death penalty, if she's convicted.

Kinney appeared in court for her common pleas arraignment on Jan. 11. Kinney and Michael Stumph are accused of stabbing Otto Stewart, 89, in his Northside home on Nov. 19 and stealing his car and money. Stewart's body was found a month later.

According to the assistant prosecutor, Kinney said she and Stumph had been staying with Stewart and taking advantage of him. When Stewart didn't comply with them at one point, Kinney said she "snapped". The assistant prosecutor says she got a large knife and stabbed him. Then Kinney tried to smother him with a pillow and wrapped a cord around his neck and tightened it like a tourniquet with a letter opener.

Kinney was arrested last month in Lexington. On Jan. 6, a grand jury indicted her and Stumph on charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. The prosecutor is seeking the death penalty.

Stumph is already locked up on a five million dollar bond.
