Plans are at an advanced stage to lift the ban on non-food Genetically Modified Organisms commonly referred as GMOs in the country such as cotton. Busia Woman Representative Florence Mutua is urging farmers in Busia County to embrace the BT cotton variety when it is allowed since it is high yielding and resistant to most pests and diseases.
