Uganda seeks investor to conduct mineral survey

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development now says that government is looking out for a strategic investor to conduct an air borne survey of of the remaining 21% of Uganda's mineral cover.

Robert Kasande, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry says that the latest data of mineral deposits particularly in the Karamoja, area would support new investments in the mining sector. He was responding to officials of the Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum who are protesting delay by government in what they call meeting a $20 Million dollar exploration requirement.
