As Tottenham complete the signing of Fulham playmaker Mousa Dembele to replace Luka Modric, goal.com's Peter Staunton assesses whether the Belgian can help Spurs reach the heights they achieved for large parts of the 2011-12 season in the Premier League.

Dembele, 25, is regarded as a near like-for-like replacement for Modric, who completed his transfer from north London to Real Madrid on Monday. He made 74 appearances for Fulham and scored seven goals after joining from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in 2010.
