Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Table Formatting: Over 1000 Formatting Options! Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this video, we will be discussing a brand-new feature in Excel 2007 - Table Formatting. This feature is perfect for creating professional and easy-to-read reports, and it's something that has been requested by many users for a long time. To access this feature, you can use the shortcut key of CONTROL+T or go to the HOME tab and click on the big icon called FORMAT AS TABLE. The advantage of using this feature is that you get to choose from a variety of formatting options, such as alternating colors for rows and columns. You can choose from 54 different styles, and when you consider the 20 different color schemes available, that's over 1000 different formatting options! Once you have selected your desired formatting, Excel will automatically apply it to your data. And the best part is, this formatting is dynamic. So, if you add new rows or columns to your table, the formatting will adjust accordingly. This makes it a great tool for creating reports that need to be updated frequently. In addition to the banded rows, you can also choose to have banded columns, which is a unique feature that is not commonly seen. And if you want to change the color scheme, you can easily do so by going to the PAGE LAYOUT tab and selecting a different theme. This will change the 6 colors used in the 54 formatting options. Overall, the table formatting feature in Excel 2007 is a game-changer for creating professional and visually appealing reports. It's easy to use and offers a wide range of options to suit your needs. So, if you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend giving it a go. Thank you for watching this netcast from MrExcel, and we'll see you next time for more Excel tips and tricks.
