It's my birthday, and my mom got me something I've been wanting to get my hands on—a brand-new Traxxas 4X4 brushless RC truck!

In this video I'm opening the box for the first time and taking a look at everything that comes with this truck straight from the factory.

The box is still factory sealed, so we're going to open it together and see exactly what's inside.

And my first reaction?

This thing is HUGE!

I've already got another Traxxas RC vehicle, so I'm familiar with these trucks, but I'm really impressed with this one. The four-wheel-drive setup combined with the brushless motor was one of the biggest reasons I wanted it.

The truck comes ready to run with the radio controller, starter battery, charger, instruction manuals, decals, tools and some additional parts.

The controller also feels considerably better than some of the cheaper RC controllers I've used. It's a proper full-size radio system with adjustments available on the transmitter.

I'm also taking a closer look underneath the body at the drivetrain, suspension, shocks, motor, battery compartment and four-wheel-drive system.

The suspension particularly impressed me.

The truck has a lot of travel, big rubber tires, substantial front and rear bumpers and what looks like a very durable chassis. I'm definitely looking forward to getting this thing outside and seeing what it can actually do.

One thing that surprised me is the included charger.

It appears to plug into the 12-volt outlet in a vehicle, meaning I'm apparently going to have to take the battery out to my car to charge it!

That's something I'll have to investigate.

I also really like the Fox Racing-style body. The body is removable, so I'm interested in seeing what other replacement bodies and colors are available. It would be fun to change the appearance of the truck from time to time.

This video is primarily the initial unboxing and my first impressions.

I'll get the battery charged, take the truck outside and make some follow-up videos once I've had an opportunity to actually drive it.

I'm really happy with the birthday present and can't wait to see what this thing can do!
