Paul and I have never thought of going to Mexico, but when our son decided that's where he was going to get married-we booked the trip! We flew into Cancun and then proceed on an hour long trip south to the resort we were staying at-in the Rivera Maya district. We stayed at the Iberostar Quetzal - Playa del Carmen, a beautiful, all inclusive resort. Our son and future daughter in law were to be married on the beach there. Speaking of the beach, while standing on it you could look across the water and see the city of Cozumel. We were pretty far southeast in Mexico. Right on the Caribbean Sea. Our room was lovely, the staff was super friendly and helpful, and we loved meeting people from around the globe! We met people from Germany, the Czech Republic, the UK, Australia, Brazil, etc... There were so many animals! I never could get a decent pic or video of the monkeys as they liked to stay in the tops of the trees, but I have plenty of all the other critters I saw. I have to say, if I never see another peacock again that will be fine with me! Lol...I never did care for their call, but at the resort they roam around freely calling out to each other all.day.long. Birds were everywhere. If you are a bird lover then this area is for you. So many pretty songs and colors!! The weather was awesome without a single drop of rain. Sunny skies every day (we went in early April). The temp was steady around 85 and it was, of course, very humid. Plenty of activities to do as well. The Mayan Ruins, riding ATVs in the jungle, swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, horseback riding, and the ever popular relaxing by the beach, pool, or your own balcony! The wedding was beautiful and everyone had a great time. The food was spectacular wherever we went throughout the resort. Shopping in town was a fun adventure and prices were very reasonable. If you've ever though about taking a trip to Mexico I highly recommend it. I'm not a beach and sun kind of girl, but I enjoyed it immensely. Adios! Please don't forget to comment & subscribe!!
