CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Nine-hundred cities across the United States held marches Thursday night, protesting the firing of Jeff Sessions. More specifically, they're concerned about what that means for the future of FBI Director Robert Mueller's investigation into potential coordination between Russia and President Donald Trump’s campaign. Janet Moran from Butler County said she drove an hour to the "Not Above the Law" protest. Meanwhile, her daughter was marching on the other side of the country in Seattle. "I really want to know what happened with the Russians, and I think we all should for our democracy," said Moran. Protesters think this starts the conversation in Cincinnati. "Two years ago, right down the street, there was the first Women's March. And there's a direct line between that march and what happened on Tuesday. We have 110 women in Congress now. This stuff does make a difference," said Sharon Corson from Cincinnati. Word of the protest went out on Facebook right after Attorney General Jeff Sessions was fired. Organizers are surprised at the turnout. "It was great that we were walking through traffic and people were honking, and so they were reading our signs and taking notice," said organizer Patricia Klingenberg. Nineteen-year-old Maddie Schramm said the protest made her feel powerful. "Honestly, it makes me terrified for my future, as well as the future of my future children and grandchildren," said Schramm. "We can't just roll over and give up. We won't roll over and give up," said Moran. The acting attorney general, Matt Whitaker, has been a vocal critic of the Mueller probe. He is also a close friend of a witness in the investigation. Democrats are calling on him to recuse himself.
